Issue 1 · Fall 2026 · The founding issue
Hail, roofs, repaints and a summer worth remembering
Local answers from the people who do the work, two business spotlights, and everything happening in Rockwall this fall.
From the editor
Why AskRockwall, and why now
This is the first issue. Every month, AskRockwall brings you straight answers from local business owners, stories about the people behind those businesses, and a look at what's happening around town.
The same questions come up in this town again and again: who covers what after a hailstorm, where to take the car after a wreck, what a fair price looks like. The people best qualified to answer them are the owners down the road who deal with them every day. This is a place for them to do it, in plain language, with every business story reviewed before it runs and anything sponsored labeled as such.

How much does it cost to repaint a car?
It depends on the vehicle's size, how much prep the body needs, and the paint you choose. Get written estimates and ask what's included: prep, coats, and the warranty.

Does insurance cover dent repair in Rockwall?
It depends on what caused the dent. Hail and other weather damage usually falls under comprehensive coverage; hitting something usually falls under collision. Your deductible applies either way.

Does homeowners insurance cover hail damage to my roof?
Usually, yes. Most homeowners policies cover sudden storm damage like hail. Many Texas policies carry a separate wind and hail deductible, often a percentage of your home's coverage, so check yours before you file.

Do I have to take my car back to the dealer after a wreck?
No. Texas law lets you choose where your car is repaired, and your insurer can't require a particular shop. Get an estimate from the shop you trust and share it with your adjuster.
